Course Overview

French is a challenging subject, building on knowledge from GCSE. At the end of two years, you will have learned to construct sentences, translate French and express
yourself competently across a range of contemporary issues. You will be able to read French articles and magazines online or in print and converse in French about
current affairs and will have gained a broad knowledge of French grammar and an extensive vocabulary.

Progression and Career Opportunities

Students typically progress to study French with another language, possibly Spanish or Italian, or even Arabic, at university.
Language-based careers can include teaching, translation and interpreting, working with a language in a sales or export environment, in business development or as a logistics specialist, working abroad or in a multinational company.
